On our second sea day on our 7 night Atlantic Coast and Iberia cruise aboard Queen Anne we made the most of having a relaxing day after a few busy ports.

An Early Start

We were up early to get some filming done around the ship. Queen Anne looks beautiful first thing in the morning, and it was the perfect time to grab some quiet shots of the public spaces before they got busy. We took advantage of the calm atmosphere to film a bit of our ship tour video, which you can find on our YouTube channel.

Since we were up early, we decided to head to the Britannia Restaurant for breakfast. We were seated at a table for two, but the tables are very close together so it was almost like we were sharing with our table neighbours anyway. Lizzy went for the Cunard Breakfast with scrambled eggs and hash browns, the eggs were really light and fluffy, and everything was hot and tasty. Laura tried the buttermilk pancakes with banana and Nutella, which were good, but the portion was quite small. We’d recommend adding something on the side if you’re having that dish.

After breakfast, we headed up to the top decks to stretch our legs and enjoy the sea air. The promenade deck and pool areas are always lovely to wander around on sea days.

Masquerade Gala Night

Tonight was one of Cunard’s famous gala evenings, and this one had a masquerade theme. We always look forward to formal nights on a cruise, its lovely to see everyone transformed in their finery.

We joined the virtual queue for dinner just before 7pm and again only waited a few minutes before being called. It’s been great using this system when we haven’t booked, and we were seated in the same section as a few nights ago. Service was a little slower than usual at the start, but it picked up quickly and our waiter was lovely.

After dinner, we headed to the Queen’s Room which had been transformed for the masquerade ball. There was live music and lots of dancing, we’re not exactly pros when it comes to ballroom, but we enjoyed watching others and soaking up the atmosphere. The band was fantastic and the whole room looked stunning with everyone in their black tie and masks.

We ended the night with a quick stop in the Golden Lion pub, where an Irish band was playing again. It was lively and busy as usual, and we stayed for a drink before heading back to the cabin.

Another Great Day

This has definitely been one of our more relaxed days, but that’s what sea days are all about. We enjoyed a nice mix of relaxation, dressing up, and enjoying the ship.
