P&O Ventura - Day 2 - Sea Day and Formal Night

Today was our first sea day on board Ventura, and after a very rocky night it turned into a much more relaxed day than planned.
The ship was definitely moving overnight, there were lots of bumps and bangs that kept waking us up. Nothing was too uncomfortable but it was just enough to disturb our sleep, so we were feeling pretty tired this morning.
We took things slow and headed up for breakfast around 10am which turned out to be a mistake. The buffet was one of the busiest we’ve ever seen, so we didn’t even attempt it. Instead, we sat by the pool with a drink and waited it out until the pizza station opened at 11am.
We spent most of the morning drifting between places, eventually ending up in the Glass House where we decided it wasn’t too early for a drink (confirmed by the waiter 😅). We went for something light and sat watching everything going on, it was a nice, easy start to the day.
Lunch took a bit of patience with the virtual queue, but once we were in the main dining room, service was quick. Today's food was a bit hit and miss, some dishes felt smaller than we’ve had before, but overall still enjoyable enough.
The ship felt really busy throughout the day, especially indoors, so we actually found it quieter outside for a while. We didn’t last too long out there though before the weather turned again, so we headed back inside and eventually gave in and had an afternoon nap which was much needed.
In the evening, it was our first formal night. We started with the Captain’s reception and we noticed lots of free flowing sparkling wine. We then headed to dinner in the main dining room. It was a fairly standard formal night menu with some good dishes and some not so memorable but as always, we enjoyed the experience of getting dressed up.
After dinner, we caught the show in the theatre which we really enjoyed, and then finished the night in Havana where it was busy again and had a great atmosphere. Pulse were performing live music and there was lots of dancing. Somehow we ended up being the last ones standing in there.
Overall we had a much slower paced day than we’d usually have at sea, but it was probably exactly what we needed after a rough night. A good mix of relaxing, food, and a bit of a late night to finish.
